The Israeli Defense Force or "IDF" is one of the most powerful, well-equipped militaries in the world today. From the early battles for independence in the 1940s through the present, the IDF has adopted a wide variety of helmet designs, both of domestic and foreign origin.

This is a highly illustrated history of IDF helmets throughout that entire period. Thanks to extensive contextual information, including interviews with soldiers who utilized said helmets in combat, it truly is a history, much more than a mere photo reference. That said, the work does include well over 500 images. More than half of said images are from the field, showing the items in period use. The remainder are professionally staged and shot, highlighting crucial design and manufacturing details in full color.
